Mubarak Ali Hassan Maki and his family rent beautiful holiday flats to visitors from all over the world. All of the flats are in Hassan's house, where he and his family also live. All were built and furnished with loving care under his personal supervision, and with his help. Guests from Germany will be pleased to learn that all of the plug sockets fit German standards!
The house is situated on what is called the "West Bank" of Luxor, where you also find most of the archaeological monuments (such as the Valley of the Kings). This makes Hassan's house the ideal starting place for excursions!
However, Hassan has much more to offer than simply rent a flat: he can also arrange taxi as well as donkey trips for you - an experience you should not miss! Hassan is also willing to take you to his house right from Luxor airport by taxi at any time! Just have him show you his guest book once you are at the house - satisfied people from all over the world have recorded their experiences in there.
Hassan's house is in the small village of El Ezba, part of the El Beirat community - that part of Luxor that you enter automatically once you leave the ferry on the West Bank. Thus, you spend your holiday amidst real Egyptians, taking part in their daily lives. El Ezba has a pharmacy of its own (and right next to the house, too!), as well as a few shops where you can satisfy your everyday needs. There are always fresh fruit and vegetables on offer and several coffee houses, as well as a restaurant, are within close walking distance.
Hassan's house is an ideal place to relax and spent leisurely holidays, for Hassan's family even do your shopping for you if you so desire! You can also rent bikes through him. We highly recommend the delicious Egyptian meals prepared on a daily basis by Fatma, Hassan's wife, for guests who like to sample Egyptian cuisine. If you are interested, you even get to eat with the family! Few things can top the experience of sitting on the roof terrace of the house and leisurely partaking of a sumptuous Egyptian meal. A huge Egyptian breakfast is already included in the weekly rental fee; Hassan charges 4 Euro per day and person for the even huger Egyptian dinner. Coffee and tea are available for free. For a small fee, Fatma will also do your washing.

This phone call is all you need for booking - no written arrangements are necessary, and once your booking is confirmed on the phone, you can be sure that the flat will be waiting for you when you arrive! You need to pay in Egyptians funds on departure, though - Hassan does not have the means to accept foreign cheques, credit cards, or similar means of payment.
Prices for flats are per week, and include breakfast, water and electricity, cleaning at the end of your stay, as well as towels and linen. These are changed on a weekly basis (towels are plentiful at any time).
Currently, there are five flats for rent; you will find pictures of all of them on the pages below. Numbered flats are furnished in a rather European style, while the fifth flat is Arabic in layout and furnishings. Please click on the respective link to get pictures and information about each flat.
